Where We Stand :
What is the Situation!
Business Turnaround 101: If you want to improve your performance, start with an honest assessment of your strategic situation. The news here is better than you might think.
Overall, right now, from a voter headcount perspective, conservatives have the numbers to consistently win in Minnesota. The margins would be tight, but more often than not, we would be in control of the statewide offices (Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney General) as well as the state House and Senate. However, we lack the machinery and key skill sets to get conservative ballots in the box and as importantly to persuade Independents and disaffected Democrats that conservative values are their natural fit.
Let's take a look at our strategic Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths
- We already have the numbers to win. In 2022, approximately 250,000 Minnesota Conservatives stayed home (after voting in 2020). Had they voted, Republicans would have won The Governors, Secretary of State and Attorney Generals offices. Most likely, Republicans would also hold both houses in the legislature.
- We are in this competitive position despite never conducting registration drives to bring in inactive Conservatives.
- The Democratic party has been completely overtaken by its radical left elements. Everything they are doing to make themselves unattractive to the masses offers growth for our side - as long as our current terrible messaging doesn't make us unattractive as well! (more on messaging on the "Plan" page.)
- Even before the Democrats took their hard drive to the radical left, we conservatives had the issues on our side. We have only ourselves to blame for not clearly explaining why EVERYBODY wins under Conservative governance.
Weaknesses
This list might appear pretty daunting. But none of these shortcomings are hard to fix and our plan is to turn them all into powerful "Strengths"!
- We are not unified (aggregated) into a cohesive force. As such, conservatives are "divided" and "Conquered" without our opposition even taking action. Please watch the video segment on the "Toll Road Story". It explains why nobody, even elected Republicans, seem to listen to us.
- Insufficient funding. The Democrats have multiple, reliable and large funding sources both inside and outside of the state. Bluntly, Minnesota Conservatives do not. To do the work necessary to win, ordinary Conservatives like us have to fill the gap. There is nobody else and it really is that simple.
- No collaborative planning. For decades, right up until now, no group has brought together all of the forces (including each of you) necessary to set and execute strategy across multiple fronts. Think about it: nobody has a plan. And it they did, there is nobody to execute it. And if there were, there is nobody to fund it! Together, we will fix this!
- Conservative messaging is so bad it turns off potential voters and has led to a complete misunderstanding of actual conservatism (the brand).
